This special year of grace commemorates the 800th anniversary of the foundation of the first monastery of nuns of the Order of Preachers in Prouilhe, France, the birth place of the Dominican Order.

In honor of this special anniversary, the Holy See has declared all monasteries as places of pilgrimage during this Jubilee Year and has granted a Plenary Indulgence, under the usual conditions, to all of the Faithful who come to pray at any of the Dominican monasteries.

Our Most Holy Father, Benedict XVI, freely grants this Plenary Indulgence, which may be gained under the usual conditions of sacrament Confession, Eucharistic Communion, and prayer for the intentions of the same Supreme Pontiff to all who piously visit the above-mentioned sacred buildings.
